Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people ask us about the coffee, the roasts, delivery across India and supplying cafes. Short answers, no marketing.

About the coffee

Where is Blue Mountain Coffee grown?
Our coffee is grown in the Mizoram highlands of Northeast India, between roughly 800m and 1,600m. We roast in small batches at our roastery in Aizawl, Mizoram.
What does the coffee taste like?
Nutty and cocoa-led with a gentle citrus lift and low bitterness. It holds up in milk and stays clean as black filter coffee.
Which varietal is it?
Our Mizoram coffee varieties include Chandragiri, Hybrid, SLN 9 and SLN 13. Our blends add a measured share of Indian Robusta for body and crema: 70% Arabica with 30% Robusta, and 80% Arabica with 20% Robusta.
How fresh is the coffee?
We roast in small batches two to three times a month rather than holding warehouse stock, so orders ship from a recent batch. We do not claim daily roasting, and we do not nitrogen flush.
How is the coffee packed?
Flat-bottom pouches with a one-way degassing valve and a resealable zip, in 250g, 500g and 1kg sizes. Drip bags come in packs of 5 and 8.
Is it single origin?
Yes. Everything we sell traces back to Mizoram farms in Northeast India, rather than being blended from unrelated lots across the country.

Choosing what to buy

Which roast should I choose?
Medium for filter coffee, V60 and AeroPress. Full City (Medium-Dark) for espresso and moka pot, and for strong milk coffee. Dark for French press and for anyone who likes a heavier, more bitter-sweet cup.
Whole beans or ground?
Whole beans if you own a grinder: ground coffee loses aroma within days of opening. If you do not have a grinder, pick your brewer at checkout and we grind to match.
What is the difference between your 100% Arabica and the 70/30 blend?
The 100% Arabica is cleaner and more aromatic with clearer citrus. The 70/30 blend has more body, a thicker crema and a stronger kick, which suits espresso and South Indian filter coffee.
Which coffee is best for a South Indian steel filter?
The 70/30 blend in a fine-medium grind. It gives the strong, sweet decoction that milk and sugar are built for. Our filter coffee with papers pack is made for exactly this.
Which coffee works for espresso machines?
Full City (Medium-Dark). Start at 18g in, 36g out, 27 to 30 seconds, and adjust grind rather than dose.
Do you sell decaf or flavoured coffee?
No. We only sell unflavoured single-origin coffee, whole bean, ground or as drip bags.

Orders, delivery and payment

Do you deliver across India?
Yes. Coffee is roasted in Aizawl, Mizoram and orders dispatch within one to two working days. Most Indian cities receive delivery in two to seven days, with tracking sent by WhatsApp and email.
Is shipping free?
Delivery is free on orders of ₹1,499 or more. Below that it is ₹79 up to 250g, ₹129 up to 500g and ₹159 above 500g, shown before you pay. Larger orders are packed in convenient 250g packs.
What payment methods do you accept?
UPI, credit and debit cards, and netbanking through our payment gateway. Bulk and cafe orders can be invoiced.
Can I return coffee?
If a pouch arrives damaged, leaking or wrong, tell us within 48 hours with a photo and we replace it. Opened food products cannot be returned for taste preference, which is why we sell 250g packs.
How should I store the coffee?
Sealed in its pouch with the zip closed, in a cool dark cupboard. Not the fridge, not the freezer, not a clear jar on a sunny counter. Aim to finish a pouch within three months of the roast batch.
