Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main coffee grades in India?

Indian coffee is graded into Plantation A/B/C (washed Arabica), Cherry AB (natural Arabica), Robusta Parchment AA/A/B, Robusta Cherry AB, and Peaberry - based on bean size, defect count, and processing.

What is Plantation A coffee?

Plantation A is the highest grade of washed Arabica with uniform large beans, very few defects, and clean cup quality - preferred for single-origin roasters.

What is Peaberry coffee?

Peaberry beans form when only one of the two seeds in a coffee cherry develops, producing a small, dense, oval bean with concentrated flavour. Around 5–10% of any harvest is Peaberry.

Which grade should I choose for my cafe?

Most single-origin cafes use Plantation A or AB Arabica for filter and Robusta Parchment AA for espresso blends. Talk to us about a custom blend for your menu.
